November 2026 | S.E.E.D Chattanooga
There is something special about seeing food from the garden in someone’s hands. The smiles, the fresh greens, and the pride in what has grown remind us why we keep showing up.
As November begins, we are grateful for everyone who has helped care for our Community Learning Gardens at Hardy Elementary School and Jessie Igou Community Center. Each harvest reflects the time, patience, and care people have shared along the way.
A Look at the Recent Harvest
Sharing the joy of a recent harvest at Hardy Elementary School.
Over the past few weeks, our gardens have given us fresh produce and moments worth sharing. These photos capture a little of that joy, from vegetables growing in the beds to a harvest welcomed at Hardy Elementary.
They also show the work behind each harvest. Someone watered. Someone pulled weeds. Someone checked on the plants and returned to care for them.
Thank you to every volunteer, school staff member, partner, and supporter who has been part of that work.
What We’re Doing This November
Caring for what’s growing in our Community Learning Gardens this fall.
This season, our focus is on caring for what is already growing at Hardy Elementary and Jessie Igou Community Center.
We will not be doing new winter planting. Instead, we will maintain the existing beds, tend the plants, and harvest what is ready as conditions allow.
Our garden care will include checking soil moisture, watering as needed, removing weeds and spent plant material, and watching how the plants respond as the weather changes.
Caring for a garden means staying involved beyond planting day. This quieter season gives us a chance to practice that care and appreciate what the gardens continue to offer.
Looking Toward 2027
We are also working on our plans for the coming year, connecting our goals with activities, supplies, and the support needed to bring them to life.
Our focus remains on strengthening the work at both gardens and creating meaningful opportunities for people to learn about soil, food, and caring for a shared space. We look forward to sharing more as plans are confirmed.
Thank You for Growing With Us
Whether you have volunteered, donated, shared our story, or encouraged us along the way, you are part of this work.
If you would like to help, reach out through our website to ask about current garden care needs, or consider a gift to support supplies and ongoing maintenance.
This November, we are thankful for what has grown and for the people helping us care for it.
